This is an original, 27" X 41" folded one-sheet movie poster for the Oscar-winning 1974 Kieth Merrill rodeo documentary entitled The Great American Cowboy. This poster was issued to American movie theatres following the film winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 1974. This documentary film chronicled the National Finals Rodeo Championship featuring veteran rodeo star Larry Mahan and the up-and-coming Phil Lyne. The poster is unevenly folded into eighths, which was standard procedure for theatrical one-sheets prior to the mid to late 1980s. The poster remains in VERY GOOD condition with no other major condition issues other than the standard folds.
