This is an original, 27'' X 41'' folded one-sheet movie poster for the 1961 U.S. release of the classic 1957 Russian film from director Grigoriy Kozintsev entitled Don Quixote (originally titled Don Kikhot in the Soviet Union). This poster was issued to American movie theatres upon the film's 1961 U.S. release. The poster was originally folded into eighths, which was standard procedure for theatrical one-sheets prior to the mid to late 1980s. The poster remains in FAIR to GOOD condition with its main issue being tears in its surface that were mended by a previous owner on the poster's front side using scotch tape. We mended other existing tears on the poster's backside using acid-free archival tape. The poster has tack holes damage and tearing in its corners from having been displayed at some point in its past. The poster also has an extra set of vertical fold marks in between its verical centerfold and its side edges, indicating that the poster was folded one extra time at some point in its past. These extra fold lines are quite visible in person, but cannot be seen clearly in our image. The poster features Nikolay Cherkasov as Don Quixote del la Mancha and Yuriy Tolubeev as Sancho Panza.
